I cant find much information on what defines this family of sponges.
For more information:
A compound sponge with a cylindrical base and six branches arranged in a circle. The base projects downwards. The oscula of the branches are side and round. No spicules have been found in this single specimen, which is a cast in greensand. The spicules where originally calcareous and probably have been dissolved away. Range: Navesink, but the exact location is unknown. Type: New, Jersey. PU 76407 | |
